ABOUT ME
I was born in Houston, Texas from Mexican parents. I have always been proud to be Hispanic and am glad they taught me both Spanish and English as I grew up. My mother had a great impact upon my career choice. She always wanted to teach young children and often volunteered at my elementary school. It was through her that I developed an interest in education and teaching. I still have a picture I drew in second grade depicting me as a future teacher. Teaching is a wonderful career in which we can make a difference everyday.

In High School, I already knew for sure that I wanted to teach after having some good teachers at my high school. One in particular motivated me to obtain my doctorate in science education. So, I emailed a professor at the University of Houston and he guided me to join teachHouston as well as informing me that I would need to have a masters and later a doctorate in science education to reach my goals.

I'm currently studying Chemistry and Education at the University of Houston-Clear Lake to obtain my masters in Curriculum and Instruction. In a few years, I would have also studied to obtain my Master's in Chemistry and Doctorate with a focus on STEM education.
